Sulforaphane - a big name with big health benefits! In fact, it is one of the most potent food-derived anticarcinogens known at this time. Studies on sulforaphane show that it can prevent and even reverse some of our most feared health outcomes are plentiful, and this is so exciting! There is still a lot to learn about sulforaphane, and it can be a tricky little science project, but if you spend a some time diving in, learning, and then practice adding this to your diet, wow; it can be a real game changer.

Although the Allium family is vast, it only includes a small number of edible plants: garlic, onions, shallots, green onions, leeks, and chives. We know that garlic can punch a big amount of flavor (and fragrance!) from just one little clove - and it can also offer gigantic health benefits as well. It has been known for its medicinal benefits for centuries, including more recently lowering blood pressure, protective against heart disease and it also appears to have anti-cancer effects — and this this the part that really jazzes me up! In order to obtain these incredible health benefits, you’ll want to practice the CHOP and STOP method.

FOOD IS LOVE

"Emmy nominated Food is Love follows Danish American Master Chef, Lasse Sorensen as he explores the diversity of St. Louis food, spending quality time in some of the most celebrated local restaurants to learn more about the people and cultures behind them. At the same time, each episode of the series allows Sorensen to dive deeper into the heart of those who make St. Louis their home, one dish at a time." I started watching Food is Love in season one and fell in love! The way Chef Lasse encourages all the restaurant owners and chefs to unveil their past and show their true passion for what they cook up is really amazing. When I got the call from the production company that Chef liked what we were doing at The Center for Plant-based Living, I nearly fell over. Feeling honored to be featured here does not even scratch the surface. I hope you enjoy.
