Heart Healthy Upbeet Wrap

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a common type of heart disease that occurs when the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle (coronary arteries) become narrowed or blocked and is the leading cause of death in the United States. Ingredients

Setup

  • 1 large whole grain wrap
  • ½ cup roasted or steamed beets, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup fresh arugula (or spinach)
  • ¼ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced cucumbers
  • ¼ cup microgreens (radish or broccoli for extra nitric oxide boost)
  • 2 tbsp hummus (oil-free)
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ avocado, sliced (optional for creaminess)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Directions

Wrap:

Lay the wrap flat and spread hummus evenly across the surface. Drizzle Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar over the hummus. Layer arugula, beets, carrots, cucumbers, and microgreens.

Add avocado slices if using. Sprinkle with black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Roll up tightly, slice in half, and enjoy!
