Oat-based Creamy Italian Dressing
Thickened by oats, this creamy Italian dressing offers fiber, not fat, to your next big bed of greens!
Ingredients
Setup
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons of oats
- 3/4 tablespoon of your favorite Italian seasoning blend (I like this one.)
- 1 tablespoon liquid sweetener (date paste, coconut nectar, maple syrup)
- 3/4 teaspoon light or yellow miso
- 3/4 teaspoon coconut aminos (or low sodium soy sauce, Bragg's aminnos or tamari)
- 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic granules
- 1/4 teaspoon onion granules
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast - optional
Directions
To a blender, blend all ingredients until there are no clumps from the oats. Taste and adjust as needed.
Allow to chill in fridge and it will thicken slightly.
Will keep 3-4 days in a sealed container.
Makes 1 cup.
