FREE CLASS:: OFFICIAL PCRM CLASS: FOODS FOR BREAST CANCER PREVENTION AND SURVIVAL WITH A LIVE Q&A FROM DR. JIM LOOMIS
Half a century ago, the United States declared a “war on cancer,” yet current statistics predict that during our lifetime, one in eight women will develop breast cancer. Research has shown that more than one-third of all cancer deaths in the United States are due to poor diet, yet most are unaware of the connection.
(in fact, research shows 87% of women diagnose with breast cancer do not have a single first degree relative with breast cancer! - Breasts, The Owners Manual, K. Funk, pg. 18).
Faced with these startling statistics, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine developed the Food for Life: Let’s Beat Breast Cancer curriculum based on their groundbreaking Cancer Project curriculum. Your instructor, Caryn Dugan, completed this intensive program over a decade ago and she has been regularly teaching these programs at the STL chapter of the Cancer Support Community (a national non-profit organization).
This class will include a short video from PCRM founder, Dr. Neal Barnard, an interactive quiz, followed by a live Q&A SESSION from Dr. Jim Loomis (who is the medical director at both PCRM and the Center for Plant-based Living) and finally a cooking demonstration from Caryn of a simple recipe that can be easily re-created at home. This class focuses
specifically on foods relevant to breast cancer risk reduction and survival.
The intended audience of the Food for Life: Let’s Beat Breast Cancer classes are cancer survivors and their family and friends as well as those looking to prevent the disease. These classes are not intended for individuals currently going through cancer treatment.
This is a virtual class and the Zoom invite and all correlating materials will be sent to you 24 hours before the class.
This is a free class. Please spread the word as we’d love to get this message out to as many people as we can. Because of the protected materials PCRM has created, we are unable to offer a replay of the event. We truly hope you can attend.
